COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Collegiate beach volleyball will have back-to-back exciting weeks of play with the NCAA Championship in Alabama, followed by the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships in California.

Eight teams earned their selection into the NCAA Championship on April 30, including three Championship newcomers. USC, South Carolina, Hawaii, Florida State, LSU, UCLA, Pepperdine and Long Beach State will begin play on May 5 from Gulf Shores, Alabama. By earning a spot at the NCAA Championship, each of the eight schools also earned an invitation for one pair to compete at the USAV Collegiate Beach Championships, May 11-13.

From May 5-6, NCAA matches will be broadcasted between NCAA.com and TruTV; all matches not on TruTV will be live streamed. The National Title matchup is set for May 7, 2 p.m. ET on TBS. Selection to the NCAA Championship consisted of three teams from the East Region, three from the West and two at-large. This is the first NCAA Championship appearance for Long Beach State, LSU and South Carolina.

Following the NCAA Championship, eyes will go to the USAV Collegiate Beach Championships in Hermosa Beach, California. The final selections to the event will be announced on May 3 on USA Volleyball’s website.

Used as an official Team USA Trials, for a spot on a USAV collegiate beach national team, participants are limited to U.S. citizens. There is no limit to how many pairs from a single school can compete in the 24-pair women’s bracket and expanded men’s bracket. The USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships is the first event of the Team USA Summer Champions Series, May 11-13 in Hermosa Beach, California. The women’s final will air live on NBCSN, May 13, 6 p.m. ET, followed by the men’s final on tape delay.
