Boys Hybrid Program
The Indoor NTDP Winter Training Series will include a boys hybrid program, now in its third year. The NTDP Hybrid Athlete Program gives athletes the opportunity to train on both hardcourt and sand. With potential pathways in beach, indoor or both national team pipelines, this program supports cross-training to develop versatility, technical skill and adaptability. Athletes are invited based on NTDP Scouting Network recommendations, recognizing those with high potential across both disciplines.

“The hybrid NTDP model uniquely prepares the athletes for the demands of both collegiate volleyball and international competition,” said Belmont Abbey College head coach Derek Sullivan. “Training in both beach and indoor environments challenges them to adapt quickly, make quick decisions, and compete with creativity. Beach volleyball develops great ball control, vision and all-around skill, while the indoor training series will challenge systemic understanding and high-tempo execution. The combination of beach and indoor helps accelerate the holistic training experience that elevates their competitiveness and volleyball IQ. This hybrid format not only expands their technical range but also builds the adaptability required to succeed at the collegiate level and beyond on the world stage.”
