COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 9, 2025) – The U.S. women’s sitting NTDP team won the gold medal at the 2025 Youth Parapan Games in a thrilling, come from behind victory over Brazil 2-1 (20-25, 25-23, 26-24) in Santiago, Chile on Sunday.

This was a rematch from Thursday, when Brazil defeated the U.S. in three sets (24-26, 25-16, 26-24). The U.S. finished the tournament (4-1).
“It was a battle to the final whistle today against a very experienced Brazil team,” head coach Julie Allen said. “I’m incredibly proud of how USA responded; we went point by point, together. Their resiliency and determination showed who we are and who we’re becoming.“
Entering the third set, the U.S. took advantage of the momentum from winning set two and jumped out to an early 4-0 lead thanks to excellent serving from Cami Wood which included two aces. The U.S. held the lead until Brazil strung together a run of their own and took an 11-8 lead. The U.S. trailed Brazil by as many as four points until late in the match when a kill off the block from Wood tied it up 22-22. The two teams traded points until the U.S. took match point, 24-23, after an incredible hustle play from Vivian Eagle to get the block on a quick set to the pin from Brazil. Brazil evened it back up after a deep court tip. Kylee Doremus gave the U.S. another match point, 25-24, with a smart roll shot over the Brazil block. The next point, Brazil was unable to handle an attack down the line from Eagle, resulting in the U.S. capturing the gold medal.
