COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 10, 2024) – The world’s premier volleyball competition is returning to the United States in 2025 as two cities will host preliminary rounds of the Volleyball Nations League.
VNL annually brings together the best teams and players from around the world for four weeks of competition. Eighteen teams in each gender will play 12 matches during three weeks of preliminary competition. The top teams then play each other for gold, silver and bronze in the VNL Final Round.
The top men’s teams return to the Chicago area in 2025, as the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., will host a men’s preliminary phase June 25-29, 2025. The city last hosted the VNL in 2019.
Elite players from the United States, Poland, Brazil, Italy, Canada and China will compete in Hoffman Estates over five days. With the U.S. and Poland competing, VNL Chicago will host two of the three medalists from the 2024 Olympic Games.
For the third consecutive year, Arlington, Texas, will host the top women’s teams in the world as the city hosts a preliminary phase July 9-13, 2025, at the College Park Center. Previously, College Park Center hosted the VNL Women’s Final Round in 2023 and a preliminary phase in 2024.
Along with the U.S. Women, who won the silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games, Arlington will host Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Germany and Thailand.
