his week’s beach update recaps the results from the Beach Collegiate Challenge at Stevenson University and two Beach Pro Tour Futures events that resulted in a silver medal heading back to the U.S. This week, we take a look at two more futures events on the calendar.
Looking back at U.S. results at the 2024 Paris Paralympic and Olympic Games
In this week’s beach update, the U.S. brings back a medal from the 2024 FISU World University Championship in Rio and Paris Olympians show out at the Hermosa Beach Open. Plus, we review BPT Futures Qidong ahead of two more Futures events set to take place this week as well as the first week of the AVP league.

The U.S. Women’s Sitting Team will play for its third straight Paralympic Games gold medal on Saturday after beating Brazil in Thursday’s semifinal 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-14, 25-15) at North Paris Arena.
The U.S. Women’s Sitting Team swept Italy 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-15) on Tuesday to advance to its sixth-straight Paralympic Games semifinal.
Myriah Massey/Lily Dee Davis took gold and Sally Perez/Sarah Wood took bronze as the U.S. claimed two steps on the podium at the 2024 U19 World University Championships in Shangluo, China. The U19 Beach World Championships are an FIVB event comprised of 103 teams from 50 countries representing all five continental confederations. This year’s tournament is the 18th installment of the event which started in 2002.
