PERSONAL: Born Tyler William Hildebrand on February 28, 1984 in Mesa, Ariz…. Parents are Tony and Cheryl Hildebrand… Has one older sister, Rebekkah… Attended Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Ariz., from 1999-2002 and lettered in four sports: basketball, golf, volleyball and baseball... Attended Long Beach State University from 2002-2006 and has a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology… Tyler has had five major knee surgeries… Favorite food is watermelon… Favorite book is The Da Vinci Code… Enjoys playing golf… In 2006 and 2007, Hildebrand played on the AVP beach volleyball tour.

INTERNATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: 2010 – Tyler appeared in four sets over the course of the FIVB World League and posted 21 running sets and 70 still sets, averaging 0.43 per set. This positioned him 33rd among the League's setters... Tyler was the captain of the U.S. Men's A2 Team that won the gold medal at the Pan American Cup in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He started five sets against Mexico and was credited with 25 runnings sets and two faults on 119 attempts. 2009 – Started three out of four Pan American Cup matches and 11 sets for the U.S. Men, who won the gold medal. Finished with 10 points on five kills and five blocks. He was credited with 58 excellent sets on 229 attempts. 2008 – Started two matches and eight sets at the Pan American Cup in Winnipeg, Canada. The U.S. won the gold medal. Tyler was credited with seven points on one kill and six blocks. He was also credited with 75 excellent sets on 179 attempts. 2005Played on the U.S. men's World University Games team that finished 11th in Izmir, Turkey (Aug. 11-21). 2003 – Helped the United States win a bronze medal at the World University Games in Daegu, Korea (Aug. 21-31).

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS: 2006 – Hildebrand finished first all-time at Long Beach State with 6,651 assists… He was named first team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and first team American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America for the third consecutive season. Named the MVP of the UCSB E-Bar Collegiate Classic in January and was the MPSF/Molten Player of the Week on January 9. His 335 total blocks rank No. 12 all-time at LBSU, his 625 digs ranks No. 9 all-time and his 77 service aces is tied for No. 9 all-time. 2005 – Selected first team AVCA All-American, first team Volleyball Magazine All-American and first team All-MPSF... Averaged 14.03 assists per game on the season, a mark that led the nation... Hit .487 (72-14-119) for the season and averaged 1.26 digs and 0.68 blocks per game... Led the 49ers to a No. 5 national ranking in hitting percentage at .338... In MPSF matches, Hildebrand averaged 14.09 assists per game to ranks No. 1 in the league. 2004 – Hildebrand was named a first team AVCA All-American and first team All-MPSF… Netted 1,774 assists in 2004 (14.17/gm)… Broke the 49er sophomore single-season record for assists (1,508), after he recorded a match-high 64 vs. UC Santa Barbara… Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team after directing the 49er offense to a .317 attack percentage… Averaged 13.25 assists, 0.62 digs, 0.62 blocks per game in the Final Four… Named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.57 assists and 2.00 digs per game in the MPSF semifinal and finals in Provo. 2003 – Was the first freshman in LBSU history to be named the AVCA Newcomer of the Year and the MPSF Freshman of the Year after averaging 15.17 assists, 1.41 digs, and 0.57 blocks per game...He was the first freshman in school history to receive the Newcomer of the Year... His 15.17 assists per game ranked No. 1 in the nation and MPSF... His 1,593 assists broke Chris Seiffert's single season assist record (for a freshman).
