Key Changes to the Registration Process for 2025:
- Housing Access: Housing will be available only to teams in an Ok to Pay status based on their registration time stamp. Teams on the Waitlist or in a Pending status will not have access to hotel accommodations.
- Registration Status:
- Pending: Upon registering your team in AES, your status will initially be “Pending.” No further action is required from you at this stage. USAV will review the time stamp of your registration and place you in one of two categories: OK to Pay or Waitlist (See Below). Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Ok to Pay: This status indicates tentative acceptance. To secure your spot, you must submit payment and complete housing through Team Travel Source as soon as possible. Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Waitlist: If the division you entered fills up before your registration is complete, your status will be changed to “Waitlist.” You can email slc@usav.org to check your waitlist position or to inquire about moving to another division. Do not submit payment unless your status is updated to “Ok to Pay.” Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Accepted: Once payment is received and your housing is confirmed by Team Travel Source, your status will be updated to “Accepted.” This is the only status that confirms full acceptance into the event, and you may then proceed to book your travel arrangements.
During both weekends of the Salt Lake City Showdown, USA Volleyball is working with RefsGiving to support the city’s local population.
Khiah Lynch, the founder of Refs Giving, is a USA Volleyball official who will be working at the Salt Lake City Showdown. RefsGiving, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with tournament organizers in event cities with a mission to eliminate waste at sporting events by gathering gently used clothing, canned goods and toiletries. RefsGiving transports those items to local shelters and individuals. Crates will be set up just inside the Hyatt & Radisson entrances of the Salt Palace Convention Center’s exhibit hall areas.
“We are proud to collaborate with USA Volleyball to deliver goods to the unhoused and food insecure in Salt Lake City,” Lynch said. “We could use any donations you can give throughout both weekends.”
“My mother used to say, ‘when you go someplace, try to leave it better than it was when you got there,’” Lynch said. “I believe we can leave SLC and each tournament city we ‘borrow’ for a few days just a little better than it was before we got there by giving to those who need us the most. Together we can make a big difference to help others by donating this weekend. Thank you.”
