COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 24, 2025) – Taryn Brasher and Kristen Nuss finished off the 2025 Beach Pro Tour with a silver medal at the Beach World Championships in Adelaide.
The Paris Olympians competed in the World Champs final for the first time and moved one step higher on the podium after earning the bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships in Mexico. Brasher and Nuss took Tina Graudina and Anistasija Samoilova of Latvia to three sets and came up just short of the gold. Tina/Anastasija won the final 2-1 (21-15, 15-21, 15-11).
All three U.S. men’s pairs and all four U.S. women’s pairs made it to the elimination rounds in Adelaide. Chaim Schalk and James Shaw were the highest finishing men’s pair, tied for fifth place. Schalk/Shaw made an appearance in the quarterfinals and lost to the eventual tournament runners-up Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Anderson from Sweden. The fifth at World Champs equaled the second-highest finish of the 2025 season for Schalk and Shaw. Their best finish was a bronze medal at Elite 16 Quintana Roo.
Brasher and Nuss took the 2025 season by storm, finishing on the podium in five of seven Elite 16 tournaments and earning three gold medals. TKN posted a 38-8 win-loss record, winning 84 sets and only losing 24 in the Beach Pro Tour and World Championship this year (bvbinfo).
“We have a shared note, we look at it every single day and at the top of it is we wanted three gold medals on the FIVB tour,” said Brasher after the duo accomplished that goal at Elite 16 Newport Beach.
In total, the U.S. won 12 medals at Elite 16 events in 2025.
