COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 6, 2019) – USA Volleyball is proud to announce the addition of CiCi Rojas to its Board of Directors, filling the remaining vacant independent director position. Her tenure begins immediately and goes through June 30, 2023.

Rojas, from Kansas City, is a senior level executive with proven success driving results in groundbreaking initiatives and strategies, in emerging markets, across business, government and non-profit sectors. She has led and managed high performance governance boards comprised of prominent volunteer leaders, representing the diverse industries, interests and community organizations that play a significant role in the Kansas City business community.

Rojas is co-creator of Tico Productions LLC/Tico Sports where she has served as president and partner since February 2017. She manages the market development and operations for Tico Sports, Spanish broadcasting platforms and sports team’s relationships. Rojas established Spanish broadcast partnerships with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, the Oakland Raiders in 2017, the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Jose Sharks and Kansas University in the last two years.

Rojas served as the president and chief executive officer for the Central Exchange from February 2013 to February 2017. She managed the region’s largest women’s business association with 1,000-plus members, focused on the professional and leadership development of women in the Kansas City community.

As the vice president for community engagement with Truman Medical Centers (TMC) from January 2010 to February 2013, Rojas launched and directed the community Engagement Division that served as the umbrella group providing direction and administrative responsibilities for human resources, community outreach and employee wellness among other areas. She initiated and executed a wellness program that led TMC to be recognized three years in a row by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of the Healthiest Employers, by Kansas City Business Magazine with the 2012 Employee Empowerment Award, and was recipient of the National Minority Health Quality Award for Community Outreach Programming.

After holding the position of president and chief executive officer at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City from February 2000 to May 2005, she held a similar position with the Great Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce from June 2006 to May 2009. Rojas was vice president of strategic alliances and special projects for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce from May 2005 to June 2005.

Among her many individual honors include Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award, 2015 and 2016 Kansas City Business Journal Power 100 List, 2013 Greater Missouri Leadership Foundation Woman of the Year, NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award, Girl Scout Pearl Award and Dallas Business Journal Minority Business Advocate of the Year.
