COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 29, 2017) – The U.S. Men’s Junior National Team (MJNT) suffered a tough loss on Wednesday when it fell to Egypt, 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19 at the FIVB Men’s Under-21 World Championship in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic.

The MJNT finished play in Pool G at 1-2 and are 1-5 overall. The team will play for 13-16th place on Saturday.

U.S. opposite Kyle Ensing led all scorers with 23 points on 20 kills, two blocks and one ace. Outside hitter Brett Rosenmeier added 15 points on 14 kills and one ace. Middle blocker George Huhmann had five blocks and middle Scott Stadick added four. Libero Gage Worsley was credited with 16 digs.

The United States led in kills (54-53) and blocks (13-7) while Egypt led in aces (9-3) and scored 29 points on U.S. errors while committing 14.

“Egypt’s got a couple players we could not slow down,” U.S. Head Coach Jay Hosack said. “We couldn’t adjust to what they were doing.

“We’re starting to get tired a little big. We’ve got to find a way to find some energy.”
