Jenny McGhee has been selected to the USA Volleyball Board of Directors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 6, 2020) – Jenny McGhee has been selected to the USA Volleyball Board of Directors as its High Performance representative and picks up the remaining term of departing director Kristin Fasbender. McGhee will be eligible to run for the same director position once her current term expires on June 30, 2021.

McGhee has worked for the Southland Conference since 2008, having been promoted to her current position of senior associate commissioner for external operations in July 2017. Her responsibilities include administrator for women’s indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, and men’s and women’s golf.

McGhee, who was a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee from 2015-2019, serves as the liaison to the conference’s senior women administrators (SWAs), student-athlete advisory committees (SAAC) and the conference’s association with multi-rights team Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment. She oversees the promotion and marketing of the Southland Conference and its member institutions as well as the conference’s branding and licensing.

“It is an honor to join the USA Volleyball Board of Directors and contribute to the meaningful work of the board, the USA Volleyball staff and all of the athletes who we serve,” McGhee said. “I am grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the sport that has given so much to me as a player, coach and administrator.”

Prior to working for the Southland Conference, McGhee worked for the Texas Tornado Hockey Club from 2002-2008. She escalated up the company ladder holding positions of ticket operations executive, director of community relations and marketing partnerships, and vice president of corporate partnerships during her tenure.

McGhee played four years of varsity volleyball at Stephen F. Austin University, where she earned a bachelor of business administration degree with marketing emphasis in 2001. After graduating from college, she coached for North Dallas Juniors Volleyball Club.

“Jenny will bring a wealth of experience to the board as a former volleyball student-athlete and with her involvement as the administrator in the Southland Conference responsible for Indoor and Beach Volleyball competition,” said Cecile Reynaud, chair of the USA Volleyball Board of Directors. “We look forward to having her join the board immediately.”
