More Volleyball Leaders to be Honored at Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 6, 2022) – USA Volleyball Gulf Coast Region Commissioner Philip Bryant has been added to the prestigious list of those who will be honored at the at the 2022 USA Volleyball Hall of Fame ceremony at the Dorothy C. Boyce Banquet on May 25 in Orlando, Fla.

The May event at the Rosen Centre will be the first in-person USA Volleyball Hall of Fame ceremony since 2019. Tickets are available at 2022 USA Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Bryant (AKA Coach Bryant), a leader in the drive to make beach volleyball an NCAA sport, will receive the George J. Fisher Leader in Volleyball Award, which recognizes longtime significant contributions to volleyball programs and activities as a player, coach, official, leader and/or administrator for at least 20 years.

Among others added to the list of honorees:

• John Hughes, commissioner of the USAV Western Empire Region in western New York, will receive the Dr. Neville A. “Doc” Booth Commissioner’s Award.
• Liz Masakayan, a 1988 indoor Olympian and international beach champion, will be named All-Time Great Female Beach Athlete.
• The All-Time Great Male Beach Athlete award will go to two-time world champion Sinjin Smith.
• Four-time Olympian and gold medalist Phil Dalhausser will be honored as the 2021 National Team Male Athlete of the Year.
