Women's U20 National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS (December 16, 2021) – The 2021 NCAA DI Women’s Volleyball National Tournament semifinals take place Thursday night, and USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) will be well-represented.

Between the four teams left – No. 1 Louisville, No. 3 Pittsburgh, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 10 Nebraska – there are 25 athletes with NTDP (or High Performance, as the program was formerly named) experience.

One – Wisconsin’s Dana Rettke – already has experience with the U.S. Women’s National Team. Rettke helped the WNT win the 2019 Volleyball Nationals League and the 2019 Tokyo Olympic Qualifier, clinching a berth to the 2020 Olympic Games.

Others, including Wisconsin’s Devyn Robinson and Nebraska’s Lindsay Krause, Kennedi Orr and Lexi Rodriguez helped the 2019 U.S. Girls Youth National Team win the 2019 FIVB U18 World Championships and claim USAV’s first FIVB age-group world title.

Furthermore, four coaches – Louisville head coach Dani Busboom Kelly, Pittsburgh head coach Dan Fisher, Nebraska associate head coach Tyler Hildebrand and Nebraska assistant coach Jaylen Reyes – currently coach or scout for the NTDP.

Here are all athletes in this year’s NCAA Women’s DI semifinals with USAV NTDP experience:

No. 1 Louisville

  • Libero/Defensive Specialist Ayden Bartlett (MAVS Volleyball; Heart of America Region) – HP Youth (Silver, 2017), HP Junior Women’s A1 (Gold 2018)
  • Outside Hitter Anna DeBeer (KIVA; Pioneer Region) – HP Women’s Junior A1 (2018), alternate to 2018 Women’s Junior National Team
  • Setter Tori Dilfer (Vision Volleyball Club; Northern California Region) – 2021 Women’s Collegiate National Team, 2019 WCNT – World University Games

No. 3 Pitt

  • Middle blocker Serena Gray (San Gabriel Elite VBC; Southern California Region) – Member of the 2016 U18 Team. Won silver at the NORCECA Championship
  • Outside hitter Kayla Lund (San Gabriel Elite Roshambo; Southern California Region) – Member of the 2019, ‘20 and ‘21 Women’s Collegiate National Teams

No. 4 Wisconsin

  • Setter/ Defensive Specialist Izzy Ashburn (MN Select; North Country Region) 2020 Women’s Collegiate National Team – Gold roster
