MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (July 16, 2019) – For six days, a record 505 beach volleyball teams will take over Manhattan Beach for the 2019 National Beach Tour Junior Championships (NBTJCs).
Over 1,000 competitors will flock to the “home of beach volleyball” for their shot at a national title. Teams in the 12-and-under and 16U divisions will compete July 18-20. Teams in the 14U and 18U divisions play July 21-23.
Admission for spectators is free throughout the tournament.
The National Beach Tour Junior Championships conclude a series of qualification events that began in December 2018. The top four beach pairs in each division from Beach National Qualifiers earn spots into the National Open Division at the national championships. A select number of bid winners from Beach Regional Qualifiers advance to the Regional Open Division at NBTJC.
The Patriot Division has also been established to allow participants who have not earned a bid to compete at nationals.
Play begins every day at 8 a.m. and is expected to conclude around 5 p.m.
