COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 28, 2019) – USA Volleyball staged a unique doubleheader of volleyball action with Red-Blue intrasquad matches with the U.S. Pan American Cup Training Team and the U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team-Anaheim competing at Irvine Valley College in Southern California.

The U.S. Pan American Cup Training Team played four sets with players swapping red and blue jerseys throughout the match.

Outside hitters Kathryn Plummer (Aliso Viejo, California) and Roni Jones-Perry (West Jordan, Utah) each scored 15 points. Plummer collected 13 kills on 29 attacks, one block and one ace while handling 34 receptions with a 32 positive percent. Perry-Jones pocketed 11 kills on 26 attacks, two aces and two blocks. She was credited with a 31 positive reception percent on 39 chances.

Outside Madi Kingdon Rishel (Phoenix, Arizona) added 14 points, all on kills from 32 attacks. She was credited with an 83 positive reception percent on 18 chances and nine digs. Opposite Krystal Rivers (Birmingham, Alabama) provided 12 kills on 21 attacks and an ace for 13 points, while outside hitter Kadie Rolfzen (Papillion, Nebraska) charted 10 kills on 32 attacks, one block and one ace for 12 points. She was credited with a 33 positive reception percent on 18 chances. Middle Rachael Adams (Cincinnati, Ohio) added 12 points with 11 kills on 16 attacks and a block.

Opposite Danielle Cuttino (Indianapolis, Indiana) hammered eight kills on 14 swings with a block for nine points. Middles Hannah Tapp (Stewartville, Minnesota) and Paige Tapp (Stewartville, Minnesota) had eight and seven points, respectively. Hannah had five kills on nine errorless attacks and three blocks, while her twin sister Paige had five kills on eight swings and two blocks. Outside hitter Simone Lee (Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin) added seven points, including three aces, three blocks and an ace in two sets of action.

Libero Gabby Curry (Buford, Georgia) held a 62 positive reception percent on 16 chances, along with seven digs. Justine Wong-Orantes (Cypress, California) turned in 11 receptions with a 55 positive percent. Kendall White (Zionsville, Indiana) contributed 12 receptions with a 67 positive percent.

Setters Madison Lilley (Overland Park, Kansas) and Ella May Powell (Fayetteville, Arkansas), who was pulled up from the U.S. Collegiate National Team-Anaheim training program for the Pan Am Cup Red-Blue, combined to set both teams to a 47 kill percent and .327 hitting efficiency. The two setters each led the side to a 2-2 set record.

The CNT Red defeated CNT Blue 15-10, 14-16, 11-15, 16-14, 15-9 in a modified scoring format with shortened sets.

CNT Red’s Kayla Lund (OH, University of Pittsburgh) led all scorers with 14 points on the strength of 12 kills on 20 attacks and two aces. She also handled 12 receptions her in three sets of action. Tyanna Omazic (M, University of Missouri) turned in seven kills on 13 attacks and just one error to go with an ace for eight points. Brynn Carlson (OH, Kansas State) was credited with four kills, one block and one ace for six points as she also handled 10 receptions with a 50 positive reception percent.

CNT Red’s Kelsey Miller (L, University of Virginia) tallied nine receptions and a 44 positive reception percent in two sets, while her libero teammate Dallas Lishman (L, Pepperdine University) was 57 percent positive on seven receptions in three set starts. Lauren Sanders (M, University of Washington) scored three of her CNT Red’s five blocks in two sets.

CNT Blue was led by Leah Clayton (OH, University of Colorado) and Melissa Evans (OPP, NC State), who each had eight points. Clayton had six kills on 10 swings, one block and one ace. She added 10 receptions with a 40 positive reception percent. Evans hammered seven kills on 14 attacks and a block for her eight points. eElan McCall (OH, TCU) tallied five points in two sets.

CNT Blue libero Emma Smith (L, University of California) had 11 receptions in three sets with a 55 positive reception percent. Her libero teammate Rachel Whipple (L, University of Colorado) had 10 receptions and a 30 positive reception percent in two sets. Piper Roe (M, University of Louisville) was credited with three of CNT Blue’s 10 blocks.

The three setters – Teana Adams-Kaonohi (S, Kansas State), Madelyn Cole (S, Creighton University), Meghan Donovan (S, University of Georgia) – rotated between both squads.
