Seven U.S. Beach Teams to Compete in La Paz

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 16, 2023) – Five women’s U.S. beach teams and two men’s begin play Friday in the main draw of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge event in La Paz, Mexico.

On the women’s side, Savvy Simo/Toni Rodriguez won two qualifying matches on Thursday to make it into the main draw where they are seeded 21^st.

They will join No. 1 Sara Hughes/Kelly Cheng, No. 2 Kristen Nuss/Taryn Kloth, No. 12 Kelley Kolinske/Hailey Harward and No. 14 Megan Kraft/Emily Stockman.

In their second qualifying match, the 14^th-seeded Simo/Rodriguez eliminated third-seeded Austrians Katharina Schützenhöfer and Lena Plesiutschnig with a 21-12, 21-16 win.

On the men’s side, two new U.S. teams will make their competitive debuts: No. 9 Trevor Crabb/Theo Brunner and No. 10 Tri Bourne/Chaim Schalk.
