COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 30, 2026)  – USA Volleyball today announced the launch of the first-ever USA Volleyball Adult Grass National Championship, set to take place October 30-November 1, 2026, at Fair Park at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee.

Marking a major milestone for the rapidly growing grass discipline, the championship will bring together top adult athletes from across the country for three days of competition, community, and celebration. A total prize purse of $28,000 will be awarded in the Open divisions, with payouts distributed to the top three finishing teams in each discipline.

“This is a defining moment for grass volleyball in the United States,” said John Speraw, President and CEO of USA Volleyball. “The Adult Grass National Championship creates a true culmination of the Grass Tour season, bringing together the best players, rewarding performance, and continuing to elevate the visibility and credibility of the discipline.”

The event will feature a full slate of disciplines across the weekend, including men’s and women’s doubles and quads on Friday, triples on Saturday, and reverse coed quads on Sunday. Competition will be offered across Open, AA/A and BB/B divisions, creating a true national stage for athletes of all levels.

Athletes can qualify for the championship in all divisions by earning bids through USA Volleyball Grass Tour events held nationwide throughout the season. Bid-winning teams will receive exclusive benefits, including discounted entry, championship gear and access to special event offerings. Bids are not necessary to compete, in any division. Participation at nationals requires a current USA Volleyball membership for the 2026-27 season; the membership is complimentary for bid winners.

Beyond competition, the championship weekend will feature a full event experience, including championship courts, a beer garden and a marquee Players Party, bringing together athletes and attendees for a signature social moment.

“We’re happy to welcome the USA Volleyball Adult Grass National Championship this fall and host an event of this caliber at the Nashville Fairgrounds,” said Deana Ivey, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “Bringing together hundreds of athletes and fans, this inaugural event is a great addition to our growing sports portfolio and another example of the variety of events that continue to choose Music City.”

The event will also serve as the final stop of the USA Volleyball Grass Tour season and play a key role in determining the inaugural “America’s Number 1,” recognizing the top-performing men’s and women’s athletes across the tour. Athletes are eligible for the America’s Number 1 title by participating in USAV-affiliated events throughout USAV Grass Tour season. Points are accumulated from different disciplines, including triples, doubles, quads and coed.

“We’re thrilled to host the inaugural USA Volleyball Adult Grass National Championship in the Southern Region,” said Southern Region Commissioner Steve Kenyon. “Fair Park at the Nashville Fairgrounds is the perfect setting, and we’re excited to team up with USA Volleyball and the City of Nashville to deliver an unforgettable experience for athletes, teams and fans.
