COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 26, 2026) – USA Volleyball continues to expand its girls junior national qualifying calendar with the addition of the inaugural USAV Golden Gate Classic Girls Junior National Qualifier for the 2027 season. Following a successful 2026 Girls Junior National Championship (GJNC) with more than 1,400 participating teams, the Golden Gate Classic provides more opportunities for youth athletes to earn national championship bids and strengthens club competition nationwide.
In partnership with the San Francisco Travel Association, the Golden Gate Classic Qualifier will take place Friday, Feb. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 21, 2027, at the iconic Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. The Golden Gate Classic Qualifier will offer competition across the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups in the Open, USA, Liberty and American divisions. Participating teams in these bid divisions will compete for the opportunity to qualify for the 2027 USA Volleyball Girls 14-17s Junior National Championship presented by Credit Union 1, which will be held Sunday, June 27 through Monday, July 5, 2027, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Bringing a girls junior national qualifier to San Francisco affirms USA Volleyball’s dedication to creating new bid opportunities for clubs and teams in the Pacific Zone,” said Molly Crockett, director of indoor events at USA Volleyball. “Pairing elite competition with an established hub of sports and culture in San Francisco and the Moscone Center was an ideal joining of forces to continue to elevate our athletes’ and families’ tournament experiences.”
