Two experienced leaders join USA Volleyball to strengthen the national officiating pipeline and expand grassroots and club programming nationwide.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Monday, October 5, 2026) — USA Volleyball (USAV) today announced the appointments of Craig Madson as Director, Officials, and Lindsay Rosenthal as Director, Club Programming. Both leaders bring deep roots in the sport alongside proven operational leadership, and both will begin their new roles effective today.

As Director, Officials, Madson will lead USAV’s national officiating pipeline across indoor, outdoor, and sitting disciplines, guiding recruitment, certification, and retention strategies. Madson brings more than 20 years of officiating and leadership experience, including NCAA tournament assignments and League One Volleyball (LOVB) challenge refereeing. He most recently served as Vice President, North America Commercial at Alliance Laundry Systems, where he led a $690 million business unit. Madson was also a member of Lewis University’s 1998 MIVA Championship team, which was inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame, and holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

“I am honored to join USA Volleyball and help build a stronger, more supportive ecosystem for officials across the country,” said Madson. “Officiating is vital to the integrity and growth of our sport, and I look forward to enhancing our certification pipelines, supporting our leadership assemblies, and elevating officiating standards across all disciplines.”

Reporting to Chief Operating Officer Bari Greenfield, Rosenthal will step into this newly created role to deepen support and value provided to clubs and expand access and opportunities for volleyball participation. In this capacity, she will lead the design, delivery, and scaling of USAV’s grassroots and club-adjacent programming, converting the USAV Athlete Development Model into repeatable, accessible programs. Rosenthal brings more than two decades of club ownership and leadership experience, most recently at LOVB, where she developed community initiatives and supported $3.5 million in athlete financial aid. A former team captain, MVP, and assistant coach at the University of Notre Dame, Rosenthal also holds a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law.

“Joining USA Volleyball is an incredible opportunity to expand access and deepen athlete engagement at every stage of the pathway,” said Rosenthal. “I am excited to collaborate with clubs, regions, and leaders nationwide to build dynamic, sustainable programs that introduce more players to the game and create lifelong opportunities in volleyball.”

Both appointments support USA Volleyball’s overarching strategy to elevate member services, expand grassroots participation, and build world-class operational standards.

“As we build momentum toward the LA28 Games, strengthening our infrastructure from grassroots participation to officiating excellence is essential to our long-term growth,” said John Speraw, President & CEO of USA Volleyball. “Craig and Lindsay bring exceptional leadership, proven operational track records, and a deep dedication to volleyball. Their vision will help us expand opportunities for our members, clubs, and officials across the country.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Craig and Lindsay to USA Volleyball,” said Bari Greenfield, Chief Operating Officer of USA Volleyball. “Their deep expertise across the entire volleyball ecosystem, club operations, and elite competition will add tremendous value to our organization as we expand grassroots access and strengthen support for our officials, clubs, and members across the country.”
