U.S. Women's Pan American Cup Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 20, 2022) – A roster of 14 up-and-coming women’s volleyball players are in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico this week for the Pan American Cup, which runs Aug. 21-28.

A total of 10 teams from the NORCECA and South American regions are competing: Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United States from NORCECA and Colombia and Peru from South America.

The U.S. Women will share their pool with Costa Rica, defending champion Dominican Republic, Peru and Puerto Rico. The other pool will feature Canada, Colombia, Cuba, host Mexico and Nicaragua.

“We had a great training block, three weeks to train alongside the world championship training group and the preparation has gone really well for us,” said U.S. Head Coach Brad Rostratter. “Some players have international experience, maybe 50 percent have played one or two international seasons. Some even played VNL. We have a group of talented players.”

The team roster will be:

Setters: Tori Dilfer and Ashley Evans
Outside hitters: Dani Drews, Roni Jones-Perry, Mac May and Avery Skinner
Middle blockers: Ali Bastianelli, Brionne Butler, Rhamat Alhassan and Madeleine Gates
Opposites: Nia Reed and Stephanie Samedy
Liberos: Kendall White and Hana Lishman

Three players return from the 2021 Pan Am Cup team that took the bronze medal: Bastianelli, Jones-Perry and Lishman.

Rostratter will be assisted by Michelle Chatman and Jonathan Charette.

The U.S. Women will open the tournament against Peru at 6 p.m. PT on Sunday. The matches will be livestreamed on Facebook Live at Codeson Sonora.
