Men’s College Roundup for Jan. 12

The first reshuffle of the top-five sees Hawaii and UC Irvine swap places after the Rainbow Warriors drop the first match of the season. We have another week to go before all of Division III is in action, but we still check in on those rankings as well in week two with the season slowly ramping up. The college roundup showcases some of the key matches of the week while also highlighting athletes who are part of the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program.

Nebraska Defeats Pitt for a Spot in 2023 NCAA Final

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are returning to the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship match after sweeping Pitt 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-17) Thursday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. The Huskers were last in the final in 2021, losing to Wisconsin in five sets.

Badger Region Hosts First Regional Instructor Training Summit

The Badger Region of USA Volleyball hosted the first Regional Instructor Training Summit on Aug. 10-11 in Wisconsin. Sixteen coaches,  USA Volleyball National Faculty, volunteers and region staff from four regions (Badger, North Country, Iowa and Great Lakes) participated.

Nine Champions Crowned on Final Day at 2023 GJNC 11-13

USA Volleyball crowned champions in nine divisions Saturday in the Girls Junior National Championship 11-13s at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

EXCEL Wins 11 National Title at GJNC 11-13s

EXCEL 11 Red (North Texas Region) was the first champion crowned at the 2023 USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championship 11-13s on Friday, winning the 11 National Division at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

The Final Four are set in the NCAA DI/II Men’s Volleyball Tournament with semifinal matches set for Thursday and the championship round May 6 at 2 p.m. PDT. The Division III Tournament has been decided as the Stevens Ducks are your 2023 champions.

League championships are now in the rearview mirror across all divisions as the top teams in NCAA men’s volleyball now shift their full attention toward the tournament. The NCAA DI/II bracket has been announced, with all matches hosted by George Mason in Fairfax, Va. The Division III Championship is in the semifinal round and currently being hosted by Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md.
