When a team registers for an Open Division in AES, its initial status will be Pending. Teams should not submit payment while their status is Pending.
If an Open Division fills within 24 hours
If an Open Division receives 48 or more registrations during the first 24 hours after registration opens, USA Volleyball will review all teams that registered in that 24-hour period.
Priority acceptance will be given to teams that, in the prior season and in the age division immediately below the division entered:
- Qualified in the Open or USA division at a national qualifier; or
- Finished in the top 20 percent of an Open Division field at a national qualifier.
Example: Teams entering the 2027 17 Open Division field will be evaluated based on their 2026 16s results.
If more than 48 teams meet one or more of the priority criteria, USA Volleyball will use the timestamp of each team’s AES registration to determine acceptance. The first 48 eligible teams, based on registration timestamp, will receive OK to Pay status.
If fewer than 48 teams meet the priority criteria, USA Volleyball will fill the remaining available positions in registration-timestamp order form among other teams that registered during the 24-hour review period.
If an Open Division does not fill within 24 hours
If an Open Division does not receive 48 registrations during the first 24 hours, teams will be accepted strictly in AES registration-timestamp order until the 48-team capacity is reached. Teams selected for acceptance will have their AES status updated to OK to Pay.
2027 Sunshine Classic Registration
**Limited spots available. To increase your chances of getting in, be ready to register immediately!
2027 Registration Process:
- Housing Access: Housing will be available only to teams in an Ok to Pay status based on their registration time stamp. Teams on the Waitlist or in a Pending status will not have access to hotel accommodations.
- Registration Status:
- Pending: Upon registering your team in AES, your status will initially be “Pending.” No further action is required from you at this stage. USAV will review the time stamp of your registration and place you in one of two categories: OK to Pay or Waitlist (See Below). Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Ok to Pay: This status indicates tentative acceptance. To secure your spot, you must submit payment and complete housing through Team Travel Source as soon as possible. Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Waitlist: If the division you entered fills up before your registration is complete, your status will be changed to “Waitlist.” You can email [email protected] to check your waitlist position or to inquire about moving to another division. Do not submit payment unless your status is updated to “Ok to Pay.” Please note that this status does not guarantee acceptance, and we advise against booking travel at this time.
- Accepted: Once payment is received and your housing is confirmed by Team Travel Source, your status will be updated to “Accepted.” This is the only status that confirms full acceptance into the event, and you may then proceed to book your travel arrangements.
