Yes, memberships operate on a year calendar from September 1 to August 31 of the following year.

Please check the individual event for specific refund policies. Refunds for a team that withdraws no later than 12 p.m. (noon) Pacific Time on the Wednesday before the event will be processed less a $20 administrative fee. Late cancellations after that time will be handled on a case-by-case basis but may not be refunded.

After pool play, teams will advance to the gold or silver playoff bracket.
You can play in the age level your birthday assigns you to or higher. You cannot play below your age level. Players who knowingly play in the division under their age risk sanctioning by USAV and local region.
To play in the Open or American divisions at the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship, you or your partner MUST have earned a bid at either a BNQ or BRQ. If you do not have a bid, you may still register in the Patriot Division.
No coed teams are allowed. Teams are comprised of two (2) male or two (2) female players.
Rankings hold for one (1) year with points falling off after 365 days. Your ranking is based on your five (5) best finishes in the previous 365 days. If an event falls off after 365 days, and you now have four (4) finishes, it is replaced by your next best finish not currently counted from the 365-day period. If you have no other event, you will have to wait until you have a fifth event to add a score.
Please check the individual event for check-in and game start times. Check-in usually begins at 7 a.m and games normally start at 8:00 local time. Some locations may have space limitations or weather restrictions and starting times may differ.
BNQ/BRQ Questions
BNQs (National Qualifiers) provide bids to the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship Open Division.
BRQs (Regional Qualifiers) provide bids to the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship American Division for girls and Open Division for boys.

There is no trickle down for a BNQ event. However, for a BRQ event the bids may trickle down to fifth place. Please reference the “Beach Regional Qualifier” section of the Qualifier Manual.
A player can earn multiple bids in one (1) or different age groups but can only accept one (1) bid for each age group.
With the goal to improve participation by boys, we will accept boys playing with girls under limited circumstances. For more information, please see “Team Entries” in the Qualifier Manual.
Yes. BNQ events are open to participants from all USAV regions.
However, BRQ events may limit participation. Please contact the BRQ tournament host for more information.
Yes, USAV welcomes international athletes to participate at BNQ events. Please contact the Beach Events Department at [email protected] in order to obtain the forms that will be required. If you wish to participate at a BRQ event, you will need to contact the host region for permission.
If international teams would like to participate in the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship, please read the “International Teams” portion of the Championship Manual.
If weather necessitates that an event be canceled, the host will notify all participants immediately. It is the responsibility of the host to maintain contact with the participants and update them of any potential or actual cancelation.
The gold division playoff brackets within each BNQ represents the top two teams of from each pool. The silver division playoff bracket represents the remaining teams from each pool.
Not all events may have a silver bracket. Only the top finishing teams in the gold bracket may earn a bid to the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship.
Bids and the USA Volleyball Beach Tour Championship
Register your team for the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship and be sure to have your bid code handy. Bid codes are printed on the bid certificate received at the BNQ event.

No, you may choose to participate with a different partner as long as they are a current USA Volleyball member.
Bids are awarded to each athlete of a winning team. If both athletes choose to separate and participate with new partners, they are able to do so.
Yes. We require at least one athlete per team to have earned a bid to compete in the Open or American Divisions of the USA Volleyball Beach Tour National Championship.
No, athletes can only register and compete in the division they earned a bid for. If athletes want to participate in a different age group, they will have to earn a bid for that age group. Another option is to register in the Patriot Division, which does not require a bid.
No, the Open and American Divisions are run at the same time, by age groups, so athletes will have to choose which division to compete in.
If the bids are for two (2) different age groups, then it may be possible for them to compete in both divisions, depending on the final schedule of the National Championship.
Possibly. It depends on the final schedule of the championship.
