COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 4, 2023) –    As soon as the fireworks die down, consider pulling up VolleyballWorld.tv as qualifying at the Pro Beach Tour Elite 16 event in Gstaad, Switzerland begins at 11 p.m. PT on Tuesday night.

Four U.S. women’s beach teams and one U.S. men’s team are in Gstaad for the event, which is a player favorite.

Julia Scoles/Betsi Flint will open in the women’s qualifying on Wednesday.

Sara Hughes/Kelly Cheng, Kristen Nuss/Taryn Kloth and Terese Cannon/Sarah Sponcil will start in Thursday’s women’s main draw.

Miles Partain/Andy Benesh will start in the men’s main draw on Thursday.

Hosts Switzerland, Brazil and the United States account for nine of the 12 teams guaranteed in the women’s main draw of the event.

The United States was last on the Gstaad podium in 2019 with the victory of Olympic champions April Ross and Alix Klineman.

Matches will be live streamed on VolleyballWorld.tv.

HELSINKI FUTURES

Evan Cory and Troy Field won the Pro Beach Tour Futures event on June 29-July 2 in Helsinki, Finland.

In the final, Cory/Field beat Mathias Seiser/Laurence Grossig of Austria 2-0 (21-14, 21-12).

Cory/Field were the tournament’s top seeds and finished 5-0.
