COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 16, 2023) – Some big performances and milestone moments for the U.S. Men overseas over the weekend and this week.

ITALY

On November 12, Pallavolo Padova (2-2) with opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez beat Cistern Volleyball 3-2 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 15-12). Garcia was named match MVP with 27 points on 24 kills and three aces.

On November 12, Prisma Taranto Volley (0-4) with middle blocker Jeff Jendryk and opposite Kyle Russell lost to Vero Volley Monza 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-17). Jendryk had six points on three kills, two blocks, and one ace. Russell had three points on three kills.

On November 12, Verona Volley (2-3) with Francesco Sani beat Farmitalia Catania 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 25-27, 25-16). Sani had 12 points on 11 kills and one ace.

POLAND

On November 11, outside hitter T.J. DeFalco and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów beat Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle with libero Erik Shoji and middle blocker David Smith 3-0 (32-30, 25-17, 25-16). DeFalco came in as a sub late in the first set and got a kill to tie the set 28-28, that was his only action of the match. Smith had two points on one kill and one block. Shoji had four digs and 13 receptions.

On November 14, Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle (4-2) with Shoji and Smith beat GKS Katowice 3-1 (28-26, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23). Smith had 17 points on 14 kills and three aces. Shoji was credited with 10 digs and 14 receptions. Smith shared a post on his Instagram celebrating his 200th match played in the Polish League.

On November 15, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (4-2) with DeFalco beat PSG Stal Nysa 3-2 (26-24, 22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-11). DeFalco was named match MVP with 22 points on 19 kills and three blocks. He was also credited with four digs and 20 receptions.

On November 15, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn (3-2) and setter Josh Tuaniga beat Exact Systems Hemarpol Częstochowa 3-1 (21-25, 27-25, 25-21, 26-24). Tuaniga led the team to a .449 hitting efficiency and added one kill.

On November 9, KGHM Cuprum Lubin and opposite Jake Hanes lost to Projekt Warszawa 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-21). Hanes had eight points on seven kills and one ace.

On November 16, Cuprum Lubin (1-5) and Hanes beat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-17). Hanes did not play.

GERMANY

On November 12, SVG Lüneburg (4-1) and middle blocker Matthew Knigge beat VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen 3-0 (25-15, 28-16, 25-19). Knigge had eight points on five kills and three blocks.

On November 15, SVG Lüneburg and Knigge beat TSV Haching München 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-15). Knigge had 10 points on seven kills and three blocks.

TÜRKIYE

On November 12, Halkbank and setter Micah Ma’a beat Develi Bld 3-1 (25-17, 25-15, 25-27, 25-22). Ma’a led the team to a .521 hitting efficiency and added three points on one kill and two blocks.

On November 15, Halkbank (7-0) and Ma’a beat Kuşgöz İzmir Vinç 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-23). Ma’a led the team to a .518 hitting efficiency and added three points on two blocks and one ace.

On November 12, Ziraat Bankasi with opposite Matt Anderson beat Hatay B.Sehir Bld 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-17). Anderson did not play.

On November 15, Ziraat (5-2) and Anderson lost to Fenerbahçe 3-2 (27-25, 25-18, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13). Anderson had 10 points on six kills and four aces.

FRANCE

On November 10, Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 with middle blockers Patrick Gasman and Michael Marshman beat Tours 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-22). Marshman had five points on five kills. Gasman did not play.

On November 14, Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 (5-1) with Gasman and Marshman overcame a two-set deficit and beat Nice 3-2 (15-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19, 17-15). Gasman had one point on one kill. Marshman had nine points on eight kills and one ace.

On November 11, St-Nazaire with opposite Kyle Ensing and outside hitter Jordan Ewert lost to Plessis-Robinson 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-20). Ensing had eight points on seven kills and one block. Ewert had six points on five kills and one block.

On November 14, St-Nazaire (3-3) with Ensing and Ewert beat Tours 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-22). Ensing had 14 points on 13 kills and one block. Ewert had 17 points on 14 points, one block, and two aces.

NETHERLANDS

On November 7, Lycurgus Volleyball and outside hitter Kyle McCauley beat Simplex 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-17). McCauley had 17 points on 13 points, three blocks, and one ace.

On November 10, Lycurgus Volleyball and McCauley beat VoCASA 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-22). McCauley had 12 points on 10 kills and two aces.

On November 15, Lycurgus Volleyball (5-1) and McCauley beat NUMIDIA VC LIMAX 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11). McCauley had four points on three kills and one block.

FINLAND

On November 10, Hypo Tirol and libero Tim McIntosh kicked off the second round of play with a win over Partizan 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-12). McIntosh had a 20 percent positive reception rate.

On November 11, Hypo Tirol and McIntosh lost to Guaguas 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-19). McIntosh had a 42 percent positive reception rate.

On November 12, Hypo Tirol and McIntosh bounced back with a win over Budva 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-18). McIntosh had a 40 percent positive reception rate.
