COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (June 17, 2025) – USA Volleyball has selected 12 members of the 2025 Boys U19 National Team to compete at the NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup, July 8-13, in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
The 12 athletes were chosen from the 28 who participated in a training block June 1-7 at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif. The Pan Am Cup participants will also attend a training block in Orlando, Fla., from July 3-5 before traveling to Mexico.
The NORCECA U19 Pan American Cup will feature eight teams divided into two pools, with the U.S. sharing Pool A with Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Canada. Chile, Suriname, Mexico and Panama are in the other pool.
The U.S. Boys U19 Team won the gold medal at the 2024 NORCECA Continental Championship and has won the last two Pan American Cup tournaments in 2022 and ’23. The 2023 Boys U19 Team finished fourth at the World Championship, its best finish ever.
Four members of the 2025 national team have previous experience with the squad. Thomas Demps IV, Dante Cayaban, Thomas Phung and Blake Fahlbusch were all on the 2024 U19 National Team, with Demps and Cayaban part of the team that won gold at the 2024 NORCECA Continental Championship.
Mountain View Volleyball Club’s Jonah Carson will coach the Pan Am team.
“The staff and I are excited to work with this group of U19 athletes,” Carson said. “The opportunity to represent the USA in an international tournament is a special experience that I know we all take seriously. With the addition of this tournament and the growth of the NTDP, it’s an exciting time to be part of USA volleyball.”
