COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 6, 2022) – Can’t wait for spring for some collegiate beach volleyball? USA Volleyball has you covered.
College beach volleyball pairs are invited to compete at the 2022 USA Volleyball Men’s and Women’s Beach Collegiate Challenge on Nov. 11-13 in Huntington Beach, Calif.
For the first time, a USA Volleyball collegiate beach tournament will be held alongside AVP events. The AVP Tour Series professional event and the AVP Juniors West Coast Championships will also be in Huntington Beach that weekend.
All pairs are guaranteed at least three matches as the tournament will consist of 32 women’s and 32 men’s pairs playing in eight pools of four teams each. The top 24 teams (three teams from each pool) will advance to single-elimination bracket play.
All competitors will earn USAV and AVP ranking points. The Beach Collegiate Challenge is also a chance for student-athletes to be scouted for future Beach National Team Development Programs.
USAV encourages athletes from the same college/university to register as a pair; however, pairs may be from different institutions. Every athlete must be a current student or recent graduate of an approved institution.
Athletes must be at least 18 and less than 25 years old on Nov. 11, 2022. Graduate students over the age of 25 may send an appeal to bntdp@usav.org. All athletes must be eligible to compete for the United States per USA Volleyball, NORCECA, FIVB and IOC regulations.
