2022 U.S. Women's Pan American Cup Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Aug. 5, 2023) – USA Volleyball has selected 14 players to compete at the women’s Pan American Cup on August 6-13 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

The setters on the team are Jenna Gray and Sydney Hilley. The outside hitters are Logan Eggleston, Simone Lee, Brooke Nuneviller and Sarah Wilhite Parsons. Nuneviller will also be available to play libero.

The opposites are Taylor Mims and Stephanie Samedy. The middle blockers are Madeleine Gates, Serena Gray, Kayla Haneline and Danielle Hart.

The liberos are Zoe Fleck and Kendall White.

Gates, Samedy, White and Wilhite Parsons competed internationally for the U.S. Women in 2022.

“This group has trained for the last three weeks and has put in a tremendous amount of work to prepare for what’s ahead of us,” Head Coach Brad Rostratter said. “Our group has a mixture of players who have seen and played a lot of volleyball, and new faces to international competition.”

Rostratter, the men’s volleyball head coach at UC San Diego, will be assisted by Jonathan Charette of the Long Beach Volleyball Club, and Cursty Jackson, a former national team player who is an assistant at the University of Texas.

“Pool play will have a variety of tough opponents that will put our team chemistry and ability to play consistent volleyball to the test right away,” Rostratter said.

Ten teams are competing in the Pan Am Cup. The U.S. Women will face Costa Rica, Peru, Colombia and Canada in pool play.

The U.S. Women have won the Pan American Cup seven times, most recently in 2019. The U.S. Women won bronze in 2021 and 2022.
