12 Club
GVA Volleyball Academy (Puerto Rico) did not lose a set en route to the 12 Club title. In the final, GVA defeated Evolution 12 Elite (SCVA) 25-8, 25-20.
Head coach Eric Delgado Cerra said that a few players developed COVID in the last month, making practices difficult.
“We were incomplete in practices, but I think that we did a great job,” he said. “A lot of emotions, a lot of hard work, and it paid off.”
13 Club
Two undefeated teams met up in the 13 Club final, and Torrimar 13-1 (Puerto Rico) and Club V 13 Black Robert (Intermountain) took the championship match to the limit.
The finale was a rematch of both teams’ first match of the tournament. In Monday’s meetup, Club V came out on top, 25-22, 20-25, 15-10.
But Torrimar had the upper hand in the final, winning another close battle, 25-23, 19-25, 15-12.
“It’s been a rollercoaster year,” Torrimar head coach Luis Mercado Canales said. “They worked hard for this.”
