COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (July 25, 2022) – USA Volleyball’s national championship circuit heads outdoors this week as the USA Volleyball Beach National Championship gets underway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Over 320 junior beach volleyball pairs will compete in the three-day tournament July 26-28. There will be four age groups – 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U – for both boys and girls, and each will end with playoff to crown a national champion. Each girls age group will be further separated into Open and American divisions. All boys pairs will compete in the Open division.

The tournament takes place at the beach volleyball courts at 1100 Seabreeze Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Last year’s event was in Fort Lauderdale as well.

12U and 16U athletes will compete during morning sessions Tuesday, July 26, and Wednesday, July 27, while 14U and 18U competitors will play in the afternoon. Thursday, July 28, will feature bracket play for all divisions all day.

Beach National Championship Schedule

The USA Volleyball Beach National Championship is the culminating event of the USA Volleyball Beach Tour, a year-long joint effort between USA Volleyball and the nation’s 40 USAV regions. Open division competitors earned a berth by placing among the top four at Beach National Qualifiers. American division athletes earned their berths at a Beach Regional Qualifier.

USA Volleyball will cover the action on social media, including photos and videos all day long on Instagram at @usavbeach and @usavolleyball.

Following the Beach National Championship is the inaugural U.S. Beach Club Championship, a tournament co-hosted by USA Volleyball and the AVP. The tournament, held July 29-31, runs alongside the AVP’s professional Fort Lauderdale Open.
