COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 13, 2026) – The U.S. Men’s U19 National Team improved to 2-0 at the 2026 NORCECA Continental Championship with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-8) win over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday at Simon Fraser University Athletic University in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

The U.S., which concludes round robin play on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT against Puerto Rico (0-2), has already qualified for the semifinal round on Saturday.

“We talk about the team we are playing is just us, play USA volleyball. From top to bottom, all 14 players played how we wanted to play today against a good opponent. We played really well and were very efficient,” U.S. Head Coach Andy Read said. “I am very proud of our guys, all 14 of them. When we play how we want to play, we play really good volleyball.”

The U.S. finished with substantial advantages in kills (36-13), blocks (8-1), and aces (12-0). Eight different players registered a block for the U.S.

Outside hitters Cameron Kosolcharoen and Matthew Kravtsov led all scorers, each totaling 11 points on nine kills, one block, and one ace. Middle blocker Nils Bennebroek and outside Daniel Hornyak added eight points apiece with six kills, a block, and an ace. Outside Franklin Sheikh contributed six points on three aces, two kills, and a block. Middle Jason Amani scored four points on three kills and a block.

The Dominican Republic raced out to a 4-1 lead to start the match before the U.S. responded with a 14-2 run to take a nine-point advantage and force a time out. An Amani block extended the lead to double digits, 18-8. Kosolcharoen scored five points on four kills and a bock to lead the U.S. to the 10-point margin, the largest of the set. The Dominican Republic got as close as seven points on two occasions before the U.S. closed out the set. Kravtsov scored four points on three kills and one of the squad’s four blocks in the set.

Four different players scored as the U.S. jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second set. A Kosolcharoen kill made it 8-2. A Dominican Republic timeout could not stem the momentum as the U.S. scored the next four points to take a 12-2 lead. A Bennebroek ace, his fourth point of the set, put the U.S. up 15-3. An Amani kill extended the lead to 14 points, 18-4. A Collin Tullis ace brought set point before a Hornyak kill, his fifth point of the set, gave the U.S. a 2-0 set lead.

The U.S. continued to roll by scoring seven of the first eight points in the third set behind three Kosolcharoen kills. Back-to-back service aces by Sheikh put the U.S. up 15-4. Carter Tchaikovsky served an ace to make it 19-6. Tullis served the final three points, including two aces.
