COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (June 22, 2026) – Olympians Micah Christenson and TJ DeFalco return to the U.S. Men’s National Team lineup for week two of Volleyball Nations League, June 24-28, in Orleans, France.
The VNL brings together the world’s top 18 teams for three action-packed weeks of preliminary play, with each team competing in four matches per week. Only the top eight teams will earn a spot in the Final Round, where a VNL title will be on the line. In week one, the U.S. went 3-1, defeating Türkiye, Germany and Canada before falling to Italy in five sets.
Christenson and DeFalco join five other Olympians who played in week one: Matt Anderson, Taylor Averill Micah Ma’a, Jeff Jendryk and Erik Shoji. Christenson did not play during the 2025 VNL season but returned to lead the team to a quarterfinal finish at the World Championship. DeFalco took the entire 2025 season off to rest and will play with the national team for the first time since the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Three other athletes will also make their first appearance this season at the VNL: libero Kyle Dagostino, opposite Gabi Garcia and middle blocker Matt Knigge. All three players were part of VNL and the World Championship in 2025. Also returning from week one: outside hitters Ethan Champlin and Jordan Ewert; opposites Jake Hanes and Cole Hartke; and middle blocker Merrick McHenry
Head coach Karch Kiraly, who is in his second year coaching the U.S. Men’s National Team, is assisted by Luka Slabe and Javier Weber.
After returning from France, the U.S. men prepare for an anticipated homestand in Hoffman Estates, Illinois (July 15-19). Get your tickets.
