The U.S. Women's National Team booked a ticket to the 2021 NORCECA Continental Championship semifinals after beating Costa Rica 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-10) Sunday.

For the second day in a row, the U.S. Women’s National Team went to five sets on Friday at the NORCECA Continental Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico. This time, it prevailed, defeating Canada 3-2 (25-17, 15-25, 19-25, 25-15, 15-8).

Eight players made their U.S. Women’s National Team debuts Thursday during a 3-2 (21-25, 28-26, 25-19, 21-25, 15-9) loss to Puerto Rico at the NORCECA Continental Championship.

Fourteen athletes will represent USA Volleyball at the 2021 Women’s NORCECA Continental Championship August 26-31 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The U.S. Women’s National Team left no doubts as to who the Olympic champion is. The U.S. Women made history on Sunday, sweeping longtime rival Brazil for their first Olympic gold medal, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14) at Ariake Arena in Tokyo.

Ah Brazil, we meet again. The U.S. Women’s National Team (6-1) will play Brazil (7-0) on Saturday in the gold medal match of the 2020 Olympic Games at 9:30 p.m. PT. It is scheduled to be shown live on the USA Network and an hour delayed on NBC (check your local listings).

The U.S. Women’s Volleyball Team will play for the gold medal on Sunday after beating Serbia decisively on Thursday, 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-23) at the Olympic Games. The U.S. Women (6-1) will play Brazil (7-0) in the gold medal match scheduled for 9:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. Korea and Serbia will play for bronze.

It’s not a match that the U.S. Women’s National Team enjoys talking about, but they know it will be tough to avoid it. On Aug. 18, 2016, in Rio de Janeiro, the U.S. Women lost to Serbia in the semifinals of the Olympic Games in a tough five-set match. The U.S. won the first set, but Serbia took the next two. The U.S. won the fourth set 25-16 and led the fifth set 11-8 before Serbia came back to win 15-13.

The U.S. Women’s National Team assured itself the chance to play for a medal with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-19) quarterfinal sweep of the Dominican Republic at the Olympic Games on Wednesday in Tokyo.

The U.S. Women will play Dominican Republic at 9 p.m. PT on Tuesday (1 p.m. Wednesday in Tokyo) in the Olympic quarter finals. The winner will play the winner of Italy/Serbia in the semifinals and is guaranteed a chance to play for a medal. The loser will go home.

The U.S. Women’s National Team played Italy on Monday knowing it had already qualified for the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Focused on improved serving and passing, the U.S. Women beat the European side, 3-2 (21-25, 25-16, 25-27, 25-16, 15-12) in their final pool play match.

By any name, a team from Russia can be a bear. The U.S. Women’s National Team encountered a grizzly in pool play on Friday, falling to the team from the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-19) at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

There is a saying that goes, “It’s hard to beat a team three times a season.” The U.S. Women’s National Team found out it was hard, but not impossible, to defeat Turkey for a third time this season when it beat the European side, 3-2

Jordan Thompson joined an elite group of women’s volleyball players on Monday as she scored 34 points in leading the U.S. Women’s National Team to a 3-0 (29-27, 25-22, 25-21) win over China at the Olympic Games.

During this year’s Games, a special group of athletes will gather in the Colorado mountains to watch the Tokyo event. The 1980 Olympic Women’s Team was the only volleyball team to qualify for this Olympics in the period between 1968 and 1984. However, they were unable to compete because of the U.S. boycott.
