USAVF’s First Point Fund Fuels Pacific’s Return to DI Men’s Volleyball

USA Volleyball Foundation’s First Point Fund proudly announces a $250,000 grant to University of the Pacific Athletics in support of reinstating Division I men’s volleyball. The USAVF grant was made possible with contributions from East Coast Volleyball, USA Volleyball, and USAVF donors dedicated to providing more opportunities through volleyball.

Retirement Series: Kim Hill

Kim Hill is a two-time Olympian and Olympic medalist who started with the team in 2013 after being “discovered” at the U.S. Women’s Open Tryout (now the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Program). A year later, she was named MVP of the 2014 FIVB World Championship as the U.S. took gold.

Retirement Series: Nichole Millage

We continue our athlete retirement series by honoring Nichole Millage of the U.S. Women’s Sitting Team. Nichole is a four-time Paralympic medalist who started with the team in 2005, less than a year after the team won a surprise bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games. She was named an alternate for the team that competed at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, but then got the surprise call to play and won her second Paralympic gold medal.

Louisiana to Host Women’s VNL Stop; Tix on Sale Dec. 14

The U.S. Women’s National Team will play on U.S. soil for the first time since winning the Olympic gold medal in Tokyo when it competes in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on May 31-June 5 at Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Reft Rejoins USAV as Seasonal Assistant for Women’s Team

USA Volleyball has hired University of San Diego Women’s Volleyball Associate Head Coach Alfred “Alfee” Reft to serve as its seasonal assistant coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team. Reft played libero for the U.S. Men’s National Team from 2006-10 and was an Olympic alternate in 2008. He returned to the team in 2012-15. Reft served as a volunteer assistant coach for both the U.S. Women’s and Men’s teams in 2016-18.
