COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 10, 2025) – Hawaii up to No. 3, UCI up to No. 4, and USC down to No. 5 as the roundup hits a small reset in the final weekend of regular season for DI/II. It’s tournament time in DIII, where Stevens and Springfield trade places at the conclusion of conference tournaments.
The college roundup showcases some of the key matches of the week while also highlighting athletes who are part of the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program.

For only the second time this season, Long Beach is entering a match coming off a loss. LBSU split with Hawaii for two matches at SimpliFi Arena last weekend in a Big West battle prior to the tournament that resulted in a tie for the best team in the conference.

USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/LBSU Players
DiAeris McRaven was on the 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6 and silver at the 2024 NORCECA Pan Am Cup. He had five kills and five blocks vs. Hawaii (Sat.)
Ben Braun was on the 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6 and silver at the 2024 NORCECA Pan Am Cup. He was also a member of the 2024 Collegiate National Team and the 2023 Beach Collegiate National Team. He had six kills, and six blocks vs. Hawaii (Sat.)
Kellen Larson was on the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship and was on the Boys U19 National Teams in 2023 and 2022 that won gold medals at the U19 Pan Am Cup. He had six digs and two assists vs. Hawaii (Sat.)
Long Beach has eight more members with NTDP connections.
Dane Hillis was a member of the 2023 U21 National Team that took silver at the Pan Am Cup and played on the 2022 U21 National Team that won gold at the Pan Am Cup. Ford Harman was a member of the 2023 Beach U19 National Team. Island Doty was a member of the 2023 Men’s U21 National Team. Chris Connelly was on the U21 National Team in 2023 and 2022 and the U19 National Team in 2021 and 2020. Isaiah Preuitt was on the 2023 U19 National Team that took gold at the NORCECA U19 Pan Am Cup. Sebastiano Sani was on the 2023 U19 National Team that placed fourth at the 2023 U19 World Championships and took gold at the NORCECA U19 Pan Am Cup. Sebastian Rodriguez was a member of the 2023 Beach U23 National Team and the 2023 Beach Collegiate National Team. Nato Dickinson was a member of the Beach Collegiate National Team in 2024 and 2023 and competed at the 2024 Beach World University Championship.
UCLA went five sets yet again in the latest victory over USC. Cooper Robinson set a new career high for kills (25) and Zach Rama chipped in with 19 to push UCLA over the edge. Three of the Bruins’ last four matches have gone to five. They close out the regular season at USC on Saturday.

USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/UCLA Players
Andrew Rowan was a member of the 2023 NORCECA Pan Am Cup Final Six team that won gold. He was also on the 2022 U21 National Team that won gold at the Pan American Cup. He had three kills, 52 assists, three aces, one block and six digs vs. USC (Thurs.).
Cooper Robinson was on the 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6 and silver at the 2024 NORCECA Pan Am Cup. He had 25 kills, one assist, three blocks and five digs vs. USC (Thurs.).
Zach Rama was on the 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6 and silver at the 2024 NORCECA Pan Am Cup. He was also on the 2023 Men’s U21 National Team that took home silver at the 2023 U21 Pan American Cup. He had 19 kills, one assist, one ace, two blocks, and four digs vs. USC (Thurs.).
Cameron Thorne was a member of the 2024 Collegiate National Team. He had three kills, one assist, one ace, and two blocks vs. USC
Sean Kelly was on the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship. He was also a member of the U19 Boys teams that won gold at the NORCECA Pan Am Cup in 2023 and 2022. He had 13 kills, one assist, two aces, and seven digs vs. USC (Thurs.)
Sean McQuiggan was a member of the 2024 Collegiate National Team. He had one kill, one assist, and four blocks vs. USC (Thurs.).
UCLA has three more players on the roster with NTDP connections.
Kahale Clini was a member of the 2023 Boys U19 NORCECA Continental Championship Team. Trent Taliaferro was on the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that took gold at the U21 NORCECA Continental Championship and the 2023 Boys U19 National Team that competed at the FIVB World Championship and took gold at the NORCECA U19 Pan Am Cup. Micah Wong Diallo was on the 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6. He was also a member of the 2024 Collegiate National Team and the Men’s U21 National Team that took home silver at the 2023 U21 Pan American Cup.
Hawaii had its second straight split with an opponent, taking the second match from No. 1 Long Beach at home in five sets. The Ranbow Warriors handled the Long Beach serve well and did not allow an ace in the series. SimpliFi Arena is no stranger tom packed crowds, but it was the first time Hawaii posted back-to-back sellouts since 1996.

USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/Hawaii
Tread Rosenthal was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship. He was also on the 2023 U19 National Team that placed fourth at the U19 World Championships and won gold at the NORCECA U19 Pan Am Cup. He had two kills, 44 assists, two blocks, one ace and nine digs vs. LBSU (Sat.). He is No. 4 in the nation in assists per set (10.72).
Justin Todd was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team. He had one block and one dig vs. LBSU (Sat.)
Finn Kearney was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship and the Boys U19 National Team in 2023 and 2022. He had 17 kills, one assist, three blocks, and four digs vs. LBSU (Sat.)
Kainoa Wade was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team. He had seven kills, one block and two digs vs. LBSU (Sat.).
The Anteaters are back to No. 4 and finished off their final home match of 2025 at the Bren Events Center with a 3-0 win over CSUN. Hilir Henno moved closer to the all-time aces mark, adding five more in Thursday’s match. Entering the weekend, he is 10 shy of the record 255 held by Evan Patek (UCSB ’07). Much like USC with six losses, UCI will be looking for a strong showing in the Big West Tournament to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.

USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/UCI Players
Nolan Flexen 2024 Men’s National Team that won gold at NORCECA Final 6 and silver at the 2024 NORCECA Pan Am Cup. He had three kills, one ace, two blocks and seven digs vs. CSUN (Thurs.).
The Trojans are in a bit of a skid and looking to snap a four-match losing streak in the final match of the regular season on Saturday. They were able to hang with UCLA every step of the way in Thursday’s five set marathon, and Dillon Klein was back among the kill leaders for the Trojans. Now with six losses (7-4 in conference), USC will need to win the MPSF Tournament for an automatic spot in the NCAA Tournament.

USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/USC
Caleb Blanchette has been a member of the Beach U19 National Team since 2022. He was also on the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the 2024 NORCECA Championship and the 2022 Boys U19 Pan Am Cup team that won gold. He had one kill, 42 assists, one block, and two digs vs. UCLA (Thurs.). He is No. 1 in the nation in assists per set (10.88).
Sterling Foley was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship. He was Named MVP and Best Spiker. He was also a member of the Boys U19 National Team in 2022 and 2023. He had six kills, one assist, four blocks, and four digs vs. UCLA (Thurs.).
Parker Tomkinson was a member of the 2024 Men’s U21 National Team that won gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship. He was also a member of the 2023 Boys U19 NORCECA Continental Championship Team. He had eight kills, one assist, two aces, four blocks and two digs vs. UCLA (Thurs.).
Dillon Klein was a member of the 2024 Men’s Collegiate National Team and the 2023 Men’s U21 National Team. He had 11 kills, one ace, three blocks, and five digs vs. UCLA (Thiurs.).
Markus Olsson was a member of the 2023 Men’s U21 National Team.

The Violets continue to roll, even in the postseason. NYU is undefeated and now carries the title of UVC Conference Champions for the second year in a row after a 3-0 win over Nazareth. Emerson Evans earned DIII AVCA player of the week honors and was the UVC Championship MVP with a career high 19 kills in the semifinal vs. New Paltz and hit .522 in the championship. NYU faces either Baruch or Buffalo in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on April 18.

The Knights are CVC champions for the second year in a row following a 3-0 win over Juniata in the final. With an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, Southern Virginia will play either Thiel or St. Joseph’s (LI) with a place in the quarterfinals on the line.

Stevens won the MAC Championship for the fourth year in a row with a 3-0 win over Messiah. Koby Sherman was MVP of the conference tournament with 36 kills across both matches. Stevens will now see either Nichols or Randolph-Macon for its first match of the NCAA tournament on Friday.

Springfield is in after holding it’s breath collectively through the selection process for the NCAA tournament. Springfield lost it’s final two matches of the regular season to Vassar and Merrimack, but did maintain top five status throughout in the eyes of the AVCA. Springfield will face Mount Union for its first match of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.
USA Volleyball National Team Development Program/Springfield
Springfield is coached by Charlie Sullivan who has been head coach for the Boys U19 National Team since 2021. In 2024 he Coached the Boys U19 team that took gold at the NORCECA Continental Championship. Sullivan received USA Volleyball’s All-Time Great Coach award in 2015. Sullivan was named 2025 Region I Coach of the Year by the AVCA, the fourth time he has won the award.
Juniata fell to Southern Virginia in the CVC Championship 0-3, but will be looking to start strong in the NCAA Tournament as one of five at-large bid recipients with their first match coming against Wentworth.

NTDP PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
This week’s roundup change reflects the big upset from the past week where UCI handed Long Beach its first loss of the season (0-3) on Friday night. UCI moves up to No. 4 and Hawaii drops down to No. 5. In DIII, we are ready for conference tournaments. Springfield and Southern Virginia flip flop, while NYU is still leading the pack after completing a perfect 23-0 regular season.
It was a strange weekend of men’s college volleyball with nearly all of your top five pairs having to put another mark in the L column. Whether the losses were a biproduct of spring break, a long season, or just good competition, it doesn’t shake up our rankings too much. This week, UCI and Hawaii flip-flop once more at No. 4 and 5. In DIII, Springfield and Southern Virginia trade places at No. 2 and No. 3 with the regular season at its conclusion.
No change this week to the top five rankings across both DI/II. Our top five appears solidified as we ready for the final stretch of the regular season with less than a month to go until the playoffs. In DIII, Stevens makes a return to the roundup, jumping from No. 6 to No. 4.
