The Men’s Senior Pan American Cup is part of the qualification process for the 2025 NORCECA Continental Championship, the next edition of the Pan American Cup in 2025 and the 2027 Pan American Games.

Outside hitter Ethan Champlain returns to the Pam Am roster for the fourth consecutive year. Four players on the team are making their third trip to the Pam Am Cup: Middle blockers Merrick McHenry and Patrick Gassman, outside hitter Jacob Pasteur and setter Quinn Isaacson. Libero Timothy McIntosh and middle blocker Michael Marshman competed on the 2023 U.S. Men’s Am Team. Libero Mason Briggs played on the 2022 Pan Am Cup Team that took bronze.

Joining them will be opposite Gabi Garcia, outside hitters Cooper Robinson and Nolan Flexen, setter Nicholas Slight and middle blocker Daniel Wetter. Garcia competed on the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team from 2019-21 before making his U.S. debut earlier this year at Volleyball Nations League. The others will be making their debuts with the U.S. Men’s National Team.

The U.S. finished fifth at the 2023 NORCECA Men’s Senior Pan American Cup and last medaled at the event by winning the bronze at the 2022 Pam Am Cup. The U.S. has won a record five Pam Am Cup gold medals and is seeking its first gold in the championship since 2012.

Andy Read will be the team’s head coach with assistance from Morteza Shiari and Jay Hosack.

Ten teams will take part in the competition, divided into two pools. The winner of each group will advance directly to the semifinals. The second and third placed teams in each group will compete in the quarterfinals.

The U.S. will compete in Group A with defending champion Canada, Chile, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Group B includes Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala, Peru, and the host nation, the Dominican Republic. Canada upended Brazil to win its first goal medal last year, while Chile earned its first Pan Am Games medal with a bronze.
