TOKYO (July 23, 2021) – The U.S. Women’s National Team enters the Olympic Games Tokyo 2021 as the top-ranked team in the world and the three-time FIVB Volleyball Nations League champion.
In 2016, the U.S. Men’s National Team had eight players in Rio de Janeiro competing in their first Olympic Games. Even with such a young team, the U.S. Men fought back from an 0-2 pool-play start and a crushing semifinal loss to Italy to earn the bronze medal.
A balance of youth and experience combine to form the U.S. Olympic beach volleyball team for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Four pairs – two women’s, two men’s – will represent the U.S. at the beach volleyball event taking place at Shiokaze Park.
USA Volleyball learned today that Taylor Crabb, a member of the U.S. Olympic Beach Volleyball Team, has been replaced in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 by Tri Bourne due to a positive COVID-19 test.
