A big shakeup hits the DI/II and DIII rankings in the college roundup. Hawaii and Ohio State move up as UC Irvine is bounced to No. 6 and Grand Canyon makes its first appearance in the top-5. In DIII, two new schools crack the top-5, including Wentworth storming onto the scene to take ahold of the No. 2 spot. More than 250 indoor athletes and more than 100 beach athletes are set to learn at the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program’s (NTDP) Winter Training Series on Dec. 27-30 in Southern California

Players and coaches from all four of the teams in the NCAA D1 Women’s Volleyball National Championship semifinals have ties to USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) and even to its national teams.

As the 2023 beach volleyball competition season winds down, we crown a new Beach Pro Tour Champion at the conclusion of the BPT Finals over the weekend. The U.S. U23 Beach National Team is set to compete at the 2023 NORCECA U23 Beach Championship in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic. The tournament runs from Dec. 11-15 and will feature four U.S. pairs for both the men's and women's tournaments.

In this week's beach update, we look to BPT Challenge Chiang Mai that will feature several U.S. Beach National Teams. This comes after U.S. pairs competed in NORCECA Playoff 4 in in Manhattan Beach this past weekend to earn Olympic points. We also have results from the U.S. pairs who were competing at the U21 Beach World Championships, and we check in on the most current Olympic rankings.

Four U.S. beach teams are set to compete at the FIVB Under-21 World Championships Nov. 6 – Nov. 12 in Roi Et, Thailand. The event begins on Tuesday with a 24-team qualifier for each gender. Once the qualifying phase is concluded, 32 teams will then be featured in the main draw from Wednesday through the end of the competition when the 2023 U21 world champions are crowned. The U.S. is sending two teams for each gender.

Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss earned their fifth medal on the FIVB Beach Pro Tour at Elite 16 Paris this past weekend. Kloth and Nuss took home silver, headlining a list of four U.S. teams that finished in the top-ten at the event.

The 2023 USA Volleyball Men’s Beach Collegiate Challenge returns to Owings Mills, Md., and the campus of Stevenson University this weekend from Sept. 15-17. The Collegiate Challenge is preceded by an NTDP Beach Accelerator (Chesapeake Region) on Sept. 15.
