In order to participate in the USAV-CAP courses & programs offered in conjunction with the AVCA Annual Convention you must register for BOTH events through the USA Volleyball website.  However, if you have already registered online with the AVCA you can still just register online for the USAV-CAP and other educational offerings.

STEP 1: Be sure to read the descriptions of the course offerings in Kansas City below and identify which AVCA Convention option and which CAP Course Level you will register for. Remember that:

  • CAP Level I is open to ANY coach;
  • CAP II is only open to currently certified Level I coaches.
  • IMPACT and VCAP Conditioning Clinics are open to any coach.
  • IMPACT Instructors and VCAP Instructor Trainings are open to pre-approved candidates only.

STEP TWO: Click on the AVCA Registration Form  PDF posted on this page. Register for one of the AVCA Convention options (either the WEEKEND Convention OR the FULL Convention) by filling in the information on that form… you can also add extras like Match Tickets, Pre-Convention Seminar, Networking Luncheon and Bowling Tournament, etc. on this form.  ALL CAP students will need to begin attending the Convention sessions on the MORNING of Friday December 17th and stay through Sunday December 19th at 5:00 pm to complete their certification by attending the CAP-Only sessions at a TBD off-site location on Sunday.

STEP THREE: Print a copy of the completed AVCA Registration Form for your records by clicking the PRINT THIS FORM button, then click the EMAIL THIS FORM button at the top of the first page to submit your registration to the AVCA (USAV-CAP will be copied).

STEP FOUR: Next, on this web page, choose your CAP Course Level or other USAV Educational Class (see below) and click to complete the registration for your CAP Course Level, and/or IMPACT and VCAP Clinics (and/or Instructor Trainings). Choose your Registration Membership Category & add to your cart and then continue shopping or check out. Remember that ALL CAP students will need to begin attending the Convention sessions on the MORNING of Friday December 17th and stay through Sunday December 19th at 5:00 pm to complete their certification by attending the CAP-Only sessions at a TBD off-site location on Sunday.

The BCAP Level I Course is BEACH Volleyball Specific and is a separate certification from regular indoor CAP I. Coaches may not register for BOTH Indoor and Beach CAP in Kansas City. Certification at this Beach CAP Course requires registering for and attending the Full AVCA Convention (Wed-Sat. December 15-18, 2010). Students must check-in atthe ConventionCenter by 1 pm on Wednesdayand must stay through 6 pm on Saturday. You may be required to finish some sessions online afterwards (at your own expense) if you're not able to stay for the Full Convention. to complete all sessions necessary for BCAP Level I certification.

STEP FIVE: Once you have chosen either the CAP Level I (open to all coaches) or the CAP Level II (open to current CAP Level I coaches) or other Class above, then click on the Registration Category which describes your membership status (current members of BOTH the AVCA and the USAV; current members of ONE OR THE OTHER organization; members of NEITHER organization; Heart of America Region Members; or Other Kansas and Missouri High School and Middle School Coaches) and add to your shopping cart. Coaches must be able to document membership status at the time of registration to be eligible for that select category.                                                                                                

You may also add the IMPACT Clinic or VCAP Conditioning Clinic, or if pre-approved you may add the IMPACT Instructor or VCAP Instructor Training. Proceed to checkout and payment for your CAP Course and clinics/trainings.

Be sure to check your email for confirmation notices from both the AVCA and USAV-CAP.

CONVENTION & CAP PROGRAM/EVENT DESCRIPTIONS

  1. FULL Convention+CAP allows coaches to attend any open AVCA meeting or session (including CAP sessions) beginning Wed Dec 15 through Sat evening on Dec 18 (CAP students must also attend the off-site CAP-Only sessions on Sunday Dec 20). The CAP Level I course is open to all coaches. The CAP Level II course is open to all previously accredited Level I coaches for initial Level II accreditation or to previously accredited Level II coaches who wish to re-accredit. This registration includes all banquets, receptions, educational sessions, meetings and Volleyball Marketplace.
    • Does NOT include Pre-convention Seminar, Networking Luncheon & Bowling Tournament, Texas Hold’Em Party, Under Armour® All-America Match tickets, Championship Match Party or Semi-Final & Championship match tickets! Coaches may ADD-ON these items and/or ADD-ON the IMPACT or VCAP Conditioning Clinics, or if qualified may add on the IMPACT Instructor Training and/or the VCAP Instructor Training

    • ALL CAP students will need to begin attending the Convention sessions on the MORNING of Friday December 17th and stay through Sunday December 19th at 5:00 pm to complete their certification by attending the CAP-Only sessions at a TBD off-site location on Sunday.

  2. Weekend-Only Convention+CAP allows coaches to attend the required CAP specific sessions beginning Friday morning and any AVCA meeting or session beginning Friday at noon through Saturday evening on Dec 18 (CAP students must also attend the off-site CAP-Only sessions on Sunday Dec 19).  The CAP Level I course is open to all coaches. The CAP Level II course is open to all previously accredited Level I coaches for initial Level II accreditation or to previously accredited Level II coaches who wish to re-accredit. This registration includes the Friday Player of the Year Banquet, the Spalding Reception and Coaches Tournament and the Friday Nfinity 80’s Party.
    • This registration does NOT include party/reception/banquet tickets on other days, Pre-Convention Seminar, Networking Luncheon & Bowling Tournament, Texas Hold’Em Party, Under Armour® All-America Match tickets, Championship Match Party or Semi-Final/Championship match tickets!  Coaches may ADD-ON these items and/or ADD-ON the IMPACT or VCAP Conditioning Clinics, or if qualified may add on the IMPACT Instructor Training and/or the VCAP Instructor Training. 

    • ALL CAP students will need to begin attending the Convention sessions on the MORNING of Friday December 17th and stay through Sunday December 19th at 5:00 pm to complete their certification by attending the CAP-Only sessions at a TBD off-site location on Sunday.

USAV ADD-ON PROGRAMS/EVENTS 

  • The IMPACT Instructor Training is open to currently accredited Level II or higher coaches, who have been recommended by their Region Office. This training will be held on Tuesday, December 14; check-in will be at 3:30pm; training runs from 4:00pm until 11:00pm. This stand-alone clinic is available for an additional registration fee. 

  • The on-site IMPACT Clinic will be held on Tuesday, December 14; check-in will be at 4:30pm; the Clinic will be held from 5:00pm CT - 10:00pm CT and is open to all coaches. This Clinic will certify coaches to coach within the USAV Junior Club system and will also meet the "Foundations Course" requirement for CAP Level I purposes. This stand-alone clinic is available for an additional registration fee. 

  • The VCAP Clinics are stand alone 4-hour Conditioning sessions that are also open to all coaches for an additional registration fee. The 6 Week Pre-Season version of the VCAP clinic will be held the evening of Sunday, December 19 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Coaches may register to attend the VCAP Clinic either as a stand-alone event or as an add-on to either the FULL or the WEEKEND CAP at the Convention.

  • VCAP Instructor Training: Volleyball Conditioning Instructor Training class is open to all Strength & Conditioning coaches/ professionals and Volleyball Coaches with an interest in conditioning volleyball athletes in a volleyball-specific manner. This VCAP Training will certify coaches to teach USAV VCAP Clinics to their local volleyball athletes and coaches, as well as possibly be hired by the USAV-CAP National Office to teach such Clinics across the US. Sessions will be held on the afternoon of Thursday Dec. 16th through 5:30pm Saturday Dec. 18th. This Class requires a separate registration fee and runs concurrently with other AVCA Convention and USAV sessions.

  • BCAP Level I Description: On-court and in-classroom hands-on learning similar to CAP Level I, but a parallel track course/certification with an accent on uniqueness of the beach game. The emphasis of Beach CAP I is on Teaching the Skills of the Beach Game. Sessions include but are not limited to practicum in Teaching the Fundamental Skills (with Cadre feedback), Motor Skill Learning Theory, Coaching Principles/Foundations, Developing the Coaching Philosophy, the USAV Code of Ethics and Legal Duties, Drill Design and Implementation, Practice Preparation and Execution, Basic Offensive/Defensive/Serve Receive Organization Systems, etc. Additional Module topics may vary.
